Cruise with me Baby!!

Well Tim and I are here at the Dayton Airport waiting for our flight to Miami. We are making a pit stop in Baltimore and only have a quick layover before we reach sun, sand and flip flops...although I may already have my flip flops on :)
We will be in Miami for the day Friday and then on Saturday we will leave for our very first cruise! We are stopping in San Juan Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, and St. Martin.
We will have tons of pictures when we come back, so be on the lookout!!

This was such a fun thing to do...although I do feel like there are 25 more things that I could think of that are fun!!!

1. I am a child of God...a sinner saved by the wonderful Grace of Jesus Christ...if you would like to know more about that please feel free to ask me!

2. I always always always said I would never get married (right mom?)

3. I am truly blessed to be married to the most wonderful man in the world! He is my best friend and the love of my life...I can't believe it has been almost 2 years!! I met Tim in college my Freshman year because he decided to stay and do a semester of music after graduation. We ran around in the same circle of friends, but never really had anything for each other. We kept in and out of touch for the next 8 or so years and then caught back up and ended up married!!

4. I live in Cincinnati Ohio, and most people would say that I finally live in the right state. I have been a huge Ohio State fan for most of my life, and all of my friends who are Michigan fans were completely against me for it!

5. My first car was a Periwinkle bluish purple Ford Ranger...my friend Cori happened to have the same car...it was really fun because Cori and Lori had matching cars!!

6. I went to Baptist Bible College, and made some really great lifelong friends there! One of my favorite memories there was this one night when my neighbors across the hall and I were in their room (Ang and Becky...I think Amy and Ruth were there too) Some things transpired and Becky was told that she needed to go to the RA's room, and she proceeded to tell her that she couldn't because her Behind was glued to the chair :) I think the Dean of women made a visit to our floor that night!! I think there is a video too somewhere! I Love you girls!!!

7. When I was in high school, a friend and I went to Cedarville College for a Point of Grace concert and to visit Ryan Cook. He took us to this really cool Ice Cream place, and wouldn't you know that 10 or so years later when I got married to Tim he took us to this place called Young's Dairy farm and I had total Deja Vu!!

8. I am not a big fan of Birthdays! I really don't like that I am now in my late twenties, and that the twenties are flying right out the window!!

9. My husband and I have become quite the travellers since we got married...we figured that we had to pay for passports so why not get some use out of them!! We have been to Cancun, the Dominican Republic, and are on our way to Puerto Rico, St. Thomas and St. Maarten on a cruise. We have also travelled a little stateside too!

10. My husband has also taught me to be a big bargain hunter and money saver! I love him for that...he has taught me to be really good with money!!

11. Along with # 10 I have learned to be a huge believer that The Lord wants to bless us so much when we give with a pure and willing heart...I have watched that happen in my life over the past 2 years, and have watched the Lord continue to bless in everything...including providing an amazing job!!

12. I am the associate pastor's wife...I know right?? It has been a crazy, wild, up and down, amazing and scary time...I am not sure I even I even described all of the emotions that come with that responsobility, but I am so thankful that God in his grace and mercy is choosing to use me!!

13. We had Karaoke at our wedding...it was something fun and different, and I think people still talk about how fun it was!!!

14. I Love to sing!! I miss being in the choir at New Faith so much!! John Mac is the best choir director I have ever sat under...I love the way he lets God use him!!

15. Speaking of New Faith Chapel...I grew closer to the Lord in my time there than i had in my whole life...I loved working with the teens there and am thankful for the opportunity to have done that...One of my favorite memories is the Thrift Store Prom that we had...that was a blast!! I also loved it when Tim and I were able to go to winter camp and make you eat nasty bugs!!

16. I am an only child, and I married an only child! I think they say that that shouldn't happen, but we are great together!

17. I Love my Papa...before I was married I had a standing Lunch date with him Every Friday at Pete's...although Tim would say he was totally against pete's due to a food poisioning snafu :) I Love you Honey!

18. I have read all the twilight books thanks to my friend Stephanie!! I like to read, but those books just made you want to eat sleep and read!! If you haven't read them you should!!!

19. People always ask us when we are going to have a baby...it is like the staple question people ask when you get married...When God is ready for us to have one we will let you know :)

20. I was supposed to go to California one summer, but at the last minute, and I do mean like the hour I was supposed to leave I decided to go see Tu and Angie in Austin, Tx...it was one of my most favorite trips!!

21. I love to decorate my house...if my husband would allow me, which he wont, I would change the house all the time!! My favorite Home decorating store is Olde Time Pottery...if you don't have one I feel so sorry for you, and then I would invite you to come visit me in Cincinnati so that I can take you there!

22. I love to take pictures!! I am saving some dollars so that I can buy a fancy Nikon D series camera!!

23. I collect willow tree people...I haven't ever collected much, and then I found the Willows. They are so cute and they go with all my stuff!!

24. I am a big scrapbooker...i love to do it, but i don't put as much time in doing it as I would like to. I am always picking stuff up for my scrapbook too...my husband has bought me several bins and containers to keep my stuff contained, but I am outgrowing it all!!

24 1/2. I love Gatlinburg...my hubby introduced me to it the year we got married, and we have gone back every year since...Last year and this coming up August, we rented a beautiful Chalet in the mountains and our parents go with us. This year we are taking Marty and Margaret, so it should be really fun!

25. I love to have poeple come visit me. I am a big time hostess...I'm actually looking forward to next weekend because some of my favorite friends Dan and Jessica Gilley are coming to hang with us...we love our time with them and are so thankful for their friendship!! Can't wait to see you guys!!!

Sweet Kathy

This past week was a week of firsts for me. I am very fortunate to have all of my grandparents still alive up until this week. You see, My Papa, who is the best papa ever I might say, has lost the love of his life on Thanksgiving. Two years ago his wife of 11 years was diagnosed with Lung Cancer. They didn't give her very high chances of living, but let me tell you she was a fighter. She lived everyday to it's fullest, and even worked until she just couldn't do it anymore. We got the call on Thanksgiving that Kathy went home to be with the Lord. We knew that her home going was soon, and we prayed that the Lord would intervene, because she was so very sick.

We packed up, and left to go up to Michigan on Friday to be with Papa, and to make preparations for the funeral. It was a very difficult time, and something I have never had to experience before. I did learn something though, that I hope I can take with me everyday of my life. As I watched people come an go during the visitation, I noticed one thing. There were people from all walks of life, and it made me realize this after talking with some. Kathy loved everyone! No matter who you were, or what your life was like she loved you!! She had eyes like Jesus. She always was able to find good in everyone, and that was shown by the 900 people that made their ways to pay their final respects to an amazing woman!

It is my prayer that I can carry on that legacy. I want to be able to find the good in everyone! I want to see people with eyes like Jesus. I am so thankful that I was fortunate enough to have Kathy in my life. You never know where the road may lead you in life, but I am glad that my path crossed paths with Kathy. I can't wait for the day that we are reunited with her over in Heaven. I know she is with the Lord, and is whole again!

I Love you Kathy, thank you for loving people the way you did especially my Papa!!
